We are seeking to fill multiple rolls for the short film LINDA and will be holding auditions this Saturday December 12th in New York City.
SUMMARY
“Linda" is a short dramatic film that follows a lonely middle aged woman named Linda. After being abandoned by her ex-husband, Linda dedicated most of her youth to raising her young son, Jacob. Because Linda sacrificed much of her life to ensure that Jacob was provided for, she became socially isolated from everyone other than her son, and began to rely on him as her only support system. At the time our film picks up, Jacob is grown up and has moved out of the house; but Linda still calls him nearly every day and has him come over frequently. When Jacob stops responding to her calls, she is left in her solitude until he reveals he is going to visit his estranged father.

Early to mid-fifties, working class. Abandoned many times in her life struggles with letting go. Linda spends her days working as a waitress at a diner and spends much of her free time in solitude. Her son is the only one who hasn't left her behind. She's strong and independent, but she lacks the ability to truly connect with those around her. We are seeking naturalistic performances for this film, so actual experience as a waitress is a bonus.
[Jacob]
Mid 30s. Smothered by his mom his entire life and has never left his home town. He's kind and has learned to work through her difficult nature. He struggles with the decision to visit his ailing father, because he knows it will hurt his mother.
