Sides & Audition Instructions

This project is accepting online video auditions through Casting Elite. Casting Directors provide specific directions regarding what they'd like to see included in the video auditions. It may be a simple introduction or a reading of sides. By customizing the content, they are able to see your personality and ensure that the submission is recent. You will have until Aug 16, 2021 to record and upload your video.

Audition Instructions/Sides:

Thank you for your interest in the role of Ellie, since this role is a bit more energetic, and involving (2 personalities) we increased the budget for
this role.
Self-Tape instructions, for the most part try to keep a mid-full shot with you approaching the camera to interact, back up to model or show off
when the scene calls for it. We are paying attention to body language and how it matches your acting. We also invite you to ad-lib as much as
possible, and draw out the scene as long as you can, the longer the better. Our artistic team is looking to see how you can act off the rails, come
up with filler, and test your creativity. Since this is reference for animation, our team pays very close attention to acting and how it applies to
body language, and how you can exaggerate a scene in terms of acting and drawing it out so the team has more to work with. The longer the
scene the better. We recommend ad-libbing parts here and there in-between really showing the spell, but then really focus and draw out the end
after the costume change, evening out the scene and giving more time to show the spell at 100%
Ellie - Scene
INT: Ellie's Lab
Background: Chase and Ellie are reverse engineering the app in order to prevent Michael from going through with selling his soul to the
company in order to break the spell the app has on everyone. Ellie is Michael's love interest and is looking at her phone, holding it up to the
light. Ellie is wearing a sporty outfit a lower cut sports bra and shorts, indicating just getting back from the gym and about to pull an all-nighter.
ELLIE
Interesting...there seems to be some hidden code behind the white background of this app. The way it's set up, this isn't normal...
Her phone vibrates, and she scrolls the screen.
ELLIE
(Reading the text message out loud)
You think you're so smart don't you? You will become a vapid, boy crazy, bubble headed valley girl who will desire only the first guy she sees
for the rest of her life.
Ellie gasps at the text and throws her phone to the side. Suddenly there's a rush and she feels like something hits her forehead, the spell starts to
take effect. She shakes her head saying "no no no no" knowing the spell is going to change her. She shakes her head and feels her intellect
draining.
ELLIE
(with a vapid expression) Liiiike, (giggling) what was that? I feel so...like dumber. I-I have to concentrate...She starts to write something down,
and feels warm. She runs her hand through her hair trying to focus on what she's writing, but starts to giggle vapidly.
ELLIE
Ummm what was I doing? What is this? It's sooo boring! (She shakes her head) wait, Michael...I have to help him, I have to...(looks down at
her outfit) OMG this is soo terrible, I have to have something a bit sexier than this! (She fiddles with her outfit, shakes her head and tries to
write again)
She bites her finger nail giggling and turns quickly to face the camera. She sees Chase working at the computer, the spell sends a slight push to
her forehead and magically she becomes extremely enchanted by Chase. Suddenly she wants to be with him like no one ever before. She shakes
her head trying to fight it, writing with one hand behind her staring fixated on Chase with this look of pure love. She stares at him for a good
long while like a grade schooler in love while twirling her hair and sighing longingly. She giggles, and adjusts her outfit to be a bit more
revealing, then takes a step forward. She shakes her head trying to fight it, but she can't look away, and she tries even harder to use her figure to
get his attention.
ELLIE
I have to focus....(She shakes her head and goes full valley girl then looks at chase like she's about to smother him in kisses) (She takes a deep
breath then approaches Chase another step, again adjusting her outfit to be more revealing) to Chase in a breathy, yet higher pitched ditzy voice
"Chase...you're like..sooo hot!"
She stops and stares at him for a brief moment with this very vapid and vacant expression, then starts twirling her hair wide-eyed
and placing her finger to the corner of her mouth. She awkwardly does a few model poses while complimenting his looks, she's
taken aback by just how attracted she is to him suddenly. She places her hand behind her head and tries another exaggerated pose.
ELLIE
(Flirtily) Chaaaase, what are you working on?
She poses to essentially stick out her chest and put her leg up on his desk, or nearby chair.

CHASE
Ellie, what's going on? We're running out of time. Michael's time is almost up.
ELLIE
(flustered) Michael...r-right we have to help him.
She shakes her head and adjusts her outfit again flirtily.
Chase, you're my soulmate, let's ditch work! (Takes a piece of paper from him and bites it like she's trying to be seductive but it's just not her)
Think of all the cool things we could do, lets forget about work, take me shopping, you won't regret it! (flirtily reaching out like she's tapping
his nose)
She tries to fight it again
ELLIE
Chase...
She's running her hand through her hair with one hand and giving her notes (what she was just writing) with the other. I received another text
(poses awkwardly trying to be seductive) I think it's making be dumber (leaning in to kiss him) I think I may be in love with you, I don't
know...these feelings are like, so new (starts twirling her hair and bobbing her head side to side giggling) Suddenly I only want you, you're like
sooo hot, I don't even know what we're doing here.
CHASE
Ellie, you have to focus for Michael
ELLIE
Riiiight Michael...(Chase's phone vibrates, she reaches for his phone giggling and tosses it aside and leans in pushing her chest up)
No, no, you only have time for me.
(She poses flirtily)
And besides, who's Michael?
Chase takes Ellie's phone and calls Michael. While he's on the phone Ellie shakes her head and goes full valley girl. Ad-lib going valley girl,
flirt, pose to distract him, talk nonsense. Really sell the transition to bubble headed. We'd like your take on being an energetic, vapid flirt who
only wants to be with Chase.
After a bit you pout and have an idea. You skip away only to return in an outfit that matches her personality. You're choice, something that
screams valley girl, is a bit revealing and shows off a bit of stomach, legs, and is lower cut showing a bit of cleavage. Our costume director
thinks something like a club outfit, like a tighter fitted, low cut halter, with a push-up to show a bit of cleavage, and a shorter skirt, heels, maybe
pig tails.
She walks in slowly giggling.
ELLIE
Did you miss me? I think, like, I know I want to be a model...your model. (She does a few exaggerated model poses while giggling) It's the
weirdest thing (puts her hand to her head) I don't have a single thought in my head. (She looks at him and smiles wide) except when I look at
you! (Acting like a cheerleader, very energetic and animated) You're the only person I can think about!
Chase is still on the phone with Michael, and she is trying to get his attention. *Adlib acting very ditzy and trying to show off to get his
attention. This could be model poses, dancing, whatever comes to mind. Draw this out quite a bit, flirt and tell him he's all yours once he gets
off the phone.
CHASE
Ellie, you need to relax, calm down, and focus.
ELLIE
(Twirling her hair and staring off vacantly like a valley-girl) ummm what were you saying? Like, I can't think straight. (she
pushes her arms together to show off a bit of cleavage and leans in giggling) Did I ever tell you how hot you are? Look at me, I
need you to look at me!
*Adlib a bit of trying to get his attention showing off your outfit. Hint at trying on things that are more revealing, also talk about
dragging him to the club to go dancing, while moving in place like you're dancing, and giggling vapidly.
She giggles and twirls around like she can only think about him and her outfits. She tries modeling but it's obvious she doesn't
know how..but what's more obvious is that she's lost herself and is the complete opposite, and wants only Chase. She energetically
poses smiling and twirling about before feeling the spell once more. She runs her hands up her body and slowly leans in to pull
him to her.
