Sides & Audition Instructions

This project is accepting online video auditions through Casting Elite. Casting Directors provide specific directions regarding what they'd like to see included in the video auditions. It may be a simple introduction or a reading of sides. By customizing the content, they are able to see your personality and ensure that the submission is recent. You will have until Aug 12, 2021 to record and upload your video.

Audition Instructions/Sides:

Ashley is Ellie's co-worker, college aged, athletic build and at the beginning of the film she stumbles on a way to
reverse engineer the code. To avoid discovery, the antagonist sends her a text message that places her under a love spell
with the first guy she sees. For the self-tape we will narrow down the scene where she runs off to see how you handle
the acting portion. *Please note, the camera angle should be a mid-full shot so that we can best match your acting skills
to your body language for animation*
INT. Coffee House
Ashley just finished a run wearing athletic gear like a tank top or sports bra and sweats. She's also wearing earbuds
listening to music on her phone. She is waiting for her order shuffling through songs on her phone when she receives a
text.
ASHLEY
(Reading out loud) I will fall madly in love with the first person I see, so much so that I will leave everything behind, he
will be the only thing I will care about.
She laughs to herself for a brief second, then feels something push her forehead like a spell strikes her. She shakes her
head looking surprised.
ASHLEY
What was that!? (She blinks, feeling this magic spell)
She slowly looks around and then straight at the camera. A nerdy guy enters the shop and she looks at him wide-eyed,
and the spell takes hold. A huge smile spreads across her face, and she just stares at him, breathing heavily. Slowly in a
love-like daze she removes her earbuds, maintaining eye contact and smiling like a grade schooler in love.
ASHLEY
My heart is racing, what's going on? (She runs her hands through her hair feeling good, the love spell really hit strong)
Wow...wow....wow (fiddling with her outfit) I've never felt like this before.
She tries to approach him but hesitates, she has no idea how to approach this guy, he is suddenly the love of her life and
all she can do is stare and smile like she is on another planet. She musters up the strength to say something, but just
waves excitedly blurting out "I love you!"
ASHLEY
I-I don't know where that came from (in a very dreamy tone) Has anyone ever told you how handsome you are?
Seriously (breathing deep) you're the most beautiful, handsome, amazing person I have ever seen in my life.
(Exasperated) can I just look into your eyes for a moment?
He thinks she is kidding, and says off hand that he's just visiting and is leaving in the morning.
ASHLEY
What can I do to convince you how much I love you? (trying to show off her outfit) Do you find me attractive enough?
He tells her she is quite beautiful and the feeling strikes her heart, the spell gets stronger.
ASHLEY
You do!? I've waited literally my whole life to hear someone like you say that. (awkwardly poses leaning against the
wall/counter like a model) I would absolutely die if I could be your model...your wife. (reaching forward to touch his
cheek, smiling in a daze) go out with me tonight, let me show you around town. Let me prove to you how much I love
you, and if you believe me, I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth.
He's flustered and is agreeing, briefly telling her where he's from. For the self-tape just hang on his every word smiling
and giggling, staring up at him wide-eyed and smiling.
ASHLEY
(Fiddling with her outfit desperately wanting to be more attractive, making it more revealing to catch his eye.) I'm not
usually this forward, or even like this. I mean a day ago I would say I was pretty, but around you I don't care about
things like that, I just want, no I need your attention. (flirtily reaching out to touch his hair) I NEED your attention, I
need you. (She adjusts her top to show some neck like and show more stomach, she starts to awkwardly sigh)
He talks briefly and it's like honey to her, like gold. It's all she cares about. She reaches for her phone and texts Ellie
saying she's quitting her job.
ASHLEY
(Out loud while texting) I'm quitting my job to move with you, (reading out loud) Ellie, I finally found my soul mate
(looking up at him giggling) I don't think I'll be coming back. Good luck on whatever it is you're working on. (she puts
her phone back into her pocket and places her arms up like on his shoulders.) This may be forward of me but (leaning
in whispering in his ear) I love you, I'll do anything for you. (Kisses him)
