Hello, I am in Temple’s Directing BFA Program and producing a short film titled Sugar Road that is looking to film during the first weekend of December (2nd & 3rd). Sugar Road is a film that explores the varying degrees of separation that starts off at the end of a strained relationship surrounding three young men whose ride home from a terrible camping trip is interrupted when one of them has a hypoglycemic attack.
Character Descriptions/Speaking Roles:
Rusty (late teens to early 20s, White, Male): A reserved, passive senior in highschool with type 1 diabetes who regrets third-wheeling on his cousin's camping trip.
Otto (Early 20s to mid 20s, White, Male): An energetic and dependable young man on the college wrestling team who is forced to babysit his cousin on a camping trip between he and his best friend.
Scott (Early 20s to mid 20s, Black, Male): A burly, sharp-tongued young man on the college wrestling team that goes on a camping trip with his best friend and his best friend’s bothersome cousin.
Farmer (Late 40s to late 50s, Any Gender/Race): A veteran farmer who mans their own stand out in the country that one day is called upon to be a helping hand to a young man with low blood sugar.
Countryman (early 40s to mid 50s, Male, Any Race): A considerate, blue-collar worker that helps three young boys when their car breaks down.
Non-speaking Roles:
Truck driver (lates 30 to mid 40s, Any Gender/Race): Friend of the Countryman that helps three young boys when their car breaks down.
