Casting Call for Student Film

At first seems to give
stern care to the couple, helping them to become closer. She fixes and bends the
posture of Huma according to her husband’s. Through her stiff interactions with
Huma, we see a deep desire for Vishesh and a contempt for Huma as a result.
*OTHER NOTES: The removal of some clothes in the dance scene may be required,
but no partial or full nudity will be needed for the film. The costume design will
ensure this, actors can expect to wear somewhat revealing skin-colored dance
costumes. For Huma HERSELF, dancing experience is A PLUS, but is NOT required.

An American-Indian housewife who wants
to save her marriage and keep her role of mother intact. She begins to realize that
there is no love left between her and Vishesh, and that she needs more purpose out of
life than just her duty to family.
*Note: This character is written to be either Hindu or Muslim. The story is an
examination of feminism and women’s personal strength in such religions. It can be
compared to the classic feminist play, A Doll’s House. We want to give opportunity to
women of these faiths.

Vishesh is neither a cruel man or an
interesting one. He is plain, and his only purpose in life is to go to work and come
home every day. He has no contempt nor love for his wife, and becomes intrigued
when their elderly dance instructor shows signs of attraction toward him.
*Note: Vishesh’s religion will match that of Huma, but this role is open to actors of
any faith who are South asian and match the age.
