Description/Notes
"NOW: a film about trauma and dissociation" is an autobiographical slice-of-life that follows a young woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder. This piece focuses on the quieter, less sensationalized aspects of the disorder, for a calmer, more intimate feeling experience. Our goal is to spread awareness, raise questions, and even say "we see you" to everyone who can relate to the protagonist - whether you have DID or not.

Available Roles
  • Aishlynn - Female / Lead / Any Ethnicity / 20-35

Ashlynn lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder, the result of prolonged trauma earlier in her life. Though she is still relatively young, there is a weight to her—an emotional gravity and quiet melancholy that feels older than her years. Even in moments of happiness, there is often a lingering sadness in her eyes, as though part of her is always elsewhere.

She is kind, gentle, and generally soft-spoken. Ashlynn moves through the world carefully, with a reserved presence shaped by years of learning how to endure rather than take up space. Her dissociative experiences intermittently pull her away from the present moment, leaving her feeling disconnected from reality and, at times, displaced in time itself.

Despite sharing her life with a warm, bubbly roommate, Ashlynn often feels profoundly alone. She exists slightly out of sync with the world around her—participating, but never fully anchored. The film follows her through a single day, observing the subtle ways dissociation shapes her inner and outer life.
