Sides & Audition Instructions

This project is accepting online video auditions through Casting Elite. Casting Directors provide specific directions regarding what they'd like to see included in the video auditions. It may be a simple introduction or a reading of sides. By customizing the content, they are able to see your personality and ensure that the submission is recent. You will have until Mar 8, 2022 to record and upload your video.

Audition Instructions/Sides:

Shooting in your home on a cell phone or computer camera is completely acceptable. We are not looking for overproduced or edited audition tapes. Please stay away from studios or news sets/stages or any green screens.
Do not edit the product presentation in any way or insert close-up or cutaway shots. We want to see you without a lot of bells and whistles. You can cut between segments but not the actual product presentations.
Tape Guidelines and Format:
Dress is stylish, but sophisticated. Look your best. Stay away from overly formal news or TV host looks.
Introduce yourself to the camera. Tell us about you and your background in TV, radio, web broadcasts or live events. Mention any experience in sales if applicable. Take your time with the intro. This is where we get to learn all about you so energy is up and have fun.
Let us know why you are interested in being a QVC Host as well as your passion for products and shopping.
Choose two products to sell directly to the camera.
Products should be from two different categories so we can gauge versatility. Popular categories are home goods, fashion, beauty, jewelry, electronics, health and wellness, jewelry or kitchen and food. Please stay away from presenting smartphones, I pads or items that might be too humorous.
Spend 2 to 3 minutes presenting each product. Presentations should be passionate, fun and exciting with a beginning, middle and end to the story. Don’t be afraid to tell personal stories or experiences. Let us know what it is, how it works, why you love it and why we the customer would want or need it. Share your own experiences you have had when using the product and how it fits into your everyday life.
Now you are ready to Shoot!
Please follow the below technical guidelines for a successful audition tape.
• Shoot against a solid colored wall, if possible, with lots of light.
• Do not shoot in front of a window.
• You can shoot in your home or a studio space. Kitchen, living room or dining room backdrops are OK. Studios are also fine but please stay away from green screens or news sets and adding any graphics.
• Framing should be a medium shot. Not too close or not too far.
• Women should stay away from form fitting or sleeveless dresses

Please follow the notes below and take advantage of these helpful hints.
• Show off you Personality. This is how we get to know the real you. We want to get a sense of who you are and what you love and why you are excited to Host for QVC . Personality is more important than being perfect and poised. Be you!!!
• This is you on a great day. Be in your best mood. Be upbeat with lots of energy. Have fun with it.
• This is not a hard sell or infomercial. Take your time. Romance the product. Talk to the camera like you would your best friend. Be natural and authentic. Be Yourself.
• Do not “Play the role” of a QVC host. Do not talk to producers in your ear, take calls from viewers or sell out or “pretend” you are on an actual airing show at the moment.
• Don’t worry so much about the product details, but tell personal stories, let us know why you love it and what you want us to know about the product.
• Don’t get hung up on item numbers or prices. Do not take customer calls or talk to absent producers off screen. We are more interested in you and your personality over everything else.
You must make a tape to be considered.

Videos can be shared in a few ways:
1) Uploading to Youtube is ideal. You can select to upload the tape as UNLISTED which will make it private and not open to public viewing. You will need to send me the direct link to view. Please make sure you are not marking the video as Private, or I will not be able to view it.
2: Upload to Vimeo which is a password protected service. Please make sure to provide me with the direct link and the password which is case sensitive.
3: Any other on-line link service that takes us directly to the video. We cannot accept downloads.
